Vladimir G. Kiknadze
Was born on April 22, 1976 in Grozny, the Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (RSFSR).
Doctor Sciences (History), Assoc. Professor, Colonel (reserve), Corresponding Member Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences.
Graduated from the Minsk Suvorov Military School with a silver medal (1993), Kaliningrad Higher Naval School with honors (1998), adjuncture at the Baltic Naval Institute named after Admiral F.F. Ushakov (2005),
He passed retraining and advanced training at the:
- Military Academy of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces in the specialty of command-staff operational-strategic (2009),
- Moscow Institute of Open Education under the Program of Training of Members of the Subject Commission for the State final certification on History (2017),
- Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation "under the program" State and municipal management "with the qualification" Specialist in the field of state and municipal management " (2018);
- State Academic University of Humanities under the program "Strategy and tactics of development and promotion of a scientific publication of the international level" (2019).
The service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was held in command and operational positions in units and headquarters of the Baltic Fleet (1998-2002); editor (2005), senior editor (2005-2007), executive secretary of the editorial board of the Military-Historical Journal (2007-2008).
Since 2008, the Institute of Military History of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (since 2010 - the Research Institute (Military History) of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation): deputy head of the research department (general problems and methodology of military history, 2008-2009), deputy chief of the Military Encyclopaedic Administration - head of the department (military history and military figures) (2009-2013); the teacher of the department (military art) of the Higher Technical School of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (2013); from September 2013 to May 2016 - head of the research department (domestic military history since the beginning of the Second World War).
